Both Roseville and Elk Grove are replicas of supporting columns from underneath freeways in California. The works are constructed from high-resolution photographs mounted on mdf, a synthesis of sculpture and photography.

The photographs that cover the surface of Elk Grove retain the images of the weeds that stood between the camera and the concrete column.

In Roseville, the photographs record the residual hooks and talons from the growth and removal of ivy, as they sprawl across the lower half of the concrete column. The works were installed together as part of the exhibition Parlour and Roseville, at Kate Werble Gallery, NYC.
